Rev. Paul Shen

Pastor Paul has served at CCCNJ for over 40 years: the first 33 years as a lay leader (youth director, deacon and trustee) and the past 7 years as a full-time pastor. Prior to that, Paul spent 33 years in various management roles in the financial services industry.

Pastor Paul received his Master of Divinity degree from Alliance Theological Seminary in 2018. He is now completing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Talbot School of Theology at BIOLA. His dissertation topic reflects his passion: Mentoring and Developing our Next Generation Christians.

Paul and his wife Jeannie have three grown children: Jonathan, Charissa and Amanda. They enjoy traveling together on family vacations.

Mandarin Congregation
Rev. David Rong

Pastor Rong has been serving the Mandarin Congregation at CCCNJ since April 2019. Prior to this, Pastor Rong had been pastoring a Lutheran Church in Los Angeles for 3 years. Before coming to the United States to study in seminary, Pastor Rong had been engaged in finance and auditing related work in Beijing for 5 years.

Pastor Rong came to the United States to study theology in 2011. In 2015, he received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and the Certificate of Clinical Pastoral Education. Previously, Pastor Rong received his Master of Economics degree in mainland China.

Pastor Rong and his wife have two children, Joseph and Benjamin. They like swimming, traveling and camping.

Taiwanese Congregation
Rev. John Chang

Pastor Chang grew up in Taiwan. God called him to ministry in 1983 while he worked at Taiwan Postal Services. He subsequently left the job and started serving God in church ministry full time.

Pastor Chang had studied at and graduated from Taiwan Baptist Seminary, China Evangeli-cal Seminary and finally the Logos Evangelical Seminary, where he received his degree of Doctor of Ministry.

After shepherding a Baptist church in Los Angeles for 16 years, Pastor Chang was invited to come to CCCNJ in November of 2014 to be Taiwanese Congregation’s pastor. In addition to serving in the Taiwanese ministry, Pastor Chang also works in coordination with the pastors of the Mandarin and English ministries at CCCNJ. Pastor Chang is especially burdened and passionate with ministries in evangelism, shepherding, preaching, Bible teaching and discipleship.

Pastor and Mrs. Chang have two sons. The older son Howard lives in Los Angeles and is active in church services. The second son David works in Boston and has a daughter. Pastor Chang often visits his family members during his vacation time to enjoy the family reunions.

Youth Ministry
Pastor Joseph Wu

Pastor Joseph has served at CCCNJ for 2 years as an assistant pastor working primarily with the youth ministry. Prior to that, he served as an intern and volunteer for 4 years with youth, college and young adult ministries in various churches in NYC and MA.

He received his Masters of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2019, and his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from CUNY Hunter College in 2016. He is passionate about discipleship, counseling, and preaching to bridge the gap between culture and faith.

Pastor Joseph now lives in Jersey City with his wife Visalia and his dog, Bao, where they enjoy long walks to the park and different cuisines that Jersey and NYC has to offer. He is also an avid basketball player and Netflix binger, always ready to ball at a moments notice or finish a new show within the week!

Children’s Ministry
Sharon Hwuang

Sharon has been serving at CCCNJ as our Children’s Ministry Director since 2002. She has a BS degree in Christian Education from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington.

Prior to her role as Children’s Ministry Director at CCCNJ, Sharon was a stay-at-home mom raising her two young children. During that time, she organized Vacation Bible School, taught children's Friday Night program and Chinese School at CCCNJ.

Sharon enjoys walking in nature and swimming. She and her husband Steve have two grown children: Eileen and Jerry.
